Compliments That Will Make Her Swoon in 2017
From texting and sexting on mobile devices to liking posts and making a girl your woman crush Wednesday, the amount of opportunities to make a good or bad impression digitally with a potential date or digital crush seems to be endless these days. To make matters worse, many of you no longer give genuine, swoon-worthy compliments. Many of you have succumb to basic AF, surface level flattery.
While yes we are living in the era of the shot life (booty shots that is), and yes there are an insane amount of women undergoing plastic surgery to get the perfect curvy figure, one thing all women have in common: we love to swoon over a good compliment (especially the ones that has nothing to do with physical features). And when I say genuine flattery I don’t mean the shallow jargon you use when sliding in the DMs. So with hopes to leave the superficial compliments in 2016, I asked a few millennial women to share what are the best compliments a guy who is interested can give a girl and/or examples of said compliments. Fellas, take out your mobile devices and take notes (because I know many of you no longer keep pens and note pads around).
“I believe the best compliment would be your mindset and personality. Beauty is great, but it's not forever and it can fade depending on the man. But a man that's into your mind is trying to build towards something.” – Yannica, 30
I try to take compliments with a grain of salt, but any compliment that is unique to me specifically is when a person has actually paid attention to you and your idiosyncrasies and acknowledges something about you that other people typically wouldn't notice or even be particularly fond of. For example, I've had a guy tell me ‘I really love that you have strong opinions’ and ‘I really like the way you say this word.’ Once I was on the phone with this dude and we were talking about beauty marks and he's like, ‘Yea, like that mole you have on the inside of your left pinky.’ I was like whaaaaaa? I didn't even know that was there! I just like when someone shows they're attentive and anything that reinforces I can be my 100 percent myself around a person.” – Lachelle, 28
“For me the best compliments are my personality or that I smell so good they want to lick the nape of my neck.”- Nafeza, 27
“What I’ve received recently is, ‘I’d travel miles to see that smile. You’re worth the trip.’”- Melissa, 28
“I’d say when a guy says I make him want to do better …want more out of life.”- Courtnay, 26
“Honestly, when a man says he likes my personality. It shows he is interested in what I have to offer. Anyone can look good but do you make me FEEL good is the question.” – Kisha, 27
“The guy I'm currently dating told me he loves how ambitious I am and he is the most attracted to my mind and how I perceive the world, which was way better than telling me I'm beautiful or hot.”- Ateara, 27
“The best compliment I've gotten is when my ex said my energy was on another level and I held myself with such confidence that he could tell from how I carried myself and how passionately I spoke that I was secure with my identity. It's things like your energy and aura that really show the type of person you are without having to shout from the rooftops, ‘IM AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN!!! I GOT MOST OF MY SHIT TOGETHER I PROMISE, LOOK!’”- Jessica, 27
Moral of the story fellas, pay close attention to details. Seduce her mind and you'll capture her heart. However, be genuine and real with the woman you are trying to pursue or already have. Tailor the compliment to who she is and what you sincerely like about her. Let me reinforce: pay close attention to details.
