Here's What Sex Looks Like From Inside the Vagina, According to Researchers

Sex is a beautiful and glorious act when done in a healthy and safe environment. Scientifically speaking, the act of sex releases chemicals in the brain that impact our bodies and behavior, as well as influence our minds and thus our perception of reality. A number of studies have revealed the bio-chemicals acetylcholine and dopamine are known as endorphins, and have a similar chemical structure to morphine. Essentially, endorphins are your body’s natural pain and stress relievers.

While all of this is great, I’ve always wondered what is actually happening down there mid-sex. If you’ve had the same thought, we’re in luck. A few courageous researchers decided to film sex from the vagina's point of view. In a video clip from an August 2010 episode of a show called "A Girl's Guide To 21st Century Sex," which ran in the United Kingdom, researchers attached cameras to one of the woman's nipples, the man's penis, inside the woman's vagina, and both people's skin.

Thanks to the cameras, we can see what happens during the missionary position. We also learn why it’s easier to conceive a child during this particular position.
